Book Talk - Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher - Never Never

This book so beautifully weaves the message of getting to know each other and falling in love all over again.

"I don't care what our real first kiss was" he says. "That's the one I want to remember"

Do you remember the first time you are introduced to one of your favourite authors? Well I do.

It was July 2015 and the ladies of my bookclub sat around, on a rainy day at St. Ali in South Melbourne, reading out every members book choice for book club reads for the next 6 months.

One of those books was Never Never by Colleen Hoover [ W| F | I | T] and Tarry Fisher [W | F | I ]. And who would have thought that Never Never book one would have intrigued me so much that I'm systematically getting through all of Colleen's books. My only worry is once I'm through them all, then what?

Never Never is about Charlize Wynwood and Silas Nash who have been best friends since before they could walk and have been in love since they were 14.

As of right now they have lost all their memory and they have not only forgotten each other but anyone and everything in their life.

They have no memory of how they met, when they fell in love, their first kiss or what happened to lead them to their current predicament. They quickly realise that in order to figure out what is happening they must work together to uncover the truth.

They quickly realise that this is not the first time they have forgotten everything. This in fact is already at least the third time and with that in mind they start documenting the things they find out as they go and prepare for the next time they loose all their memories. Which is only 2 days from now.

As this post is book talk, if you haven't read the books then I suggest you stop reading the rest of this blog and go ahead get the books. You will not be disappointed! This is in fact a perfect summer read.

Once you are done come back and let me know your thought, I'd love to hear what your conclusion is.

But if you have finished the books and you're wondering about the whole story then these are my thoughts, so please proceed.

First of all I wish I had read up on this book when we picked the first one to read. If I had known that this book had three parts I most certainly would have waited for all three to come out. How about the cliff hanger at the end of book one!

I really loved this story!

"I want to remember what it feels like to love someone like that. And not just anyone. I want to know what it feels like to love Charlie"

Firstly I want to mention the book covers and how they were vary telling of the story on their own. Book one has two hands, portraying a joined story. It really was an equal split between both points of view. One of the hands is holding a flower, as we go through the story we realise that Charlize is the one that is holding on to the past, more then Silas. From memory the flower is from her home, the mansion they used to live in when her dad had all the money. The flower represents the life she used to have.

Book two only has one hand the the second hand is missing with red fog streaming in. This depicted the fact that majority of book two was Silas searching for Charlize. The fact that the flower was still floating around, indicates that she is around but just out of reach for Silas. Charlize' history is still standing between Silas and her.

Book three cover both hands are there and touching. Meaning they have finally found each other.

As for the story, and it may just be my current life experience, but really loved the fact that Colleen and Tarryn literally made the characters forget them self in order to remember what they once hand.

Having been in a long term relationship my self, I can't stress enough how important it is to work on that relationship. Work on remembering what got us together in the first place. Making time for just Andy and me. Going out on date nights, doing things for each other that takes us back to the hot and steamy romance of when we met.

This book so beautifully weaves this message of getting to know each other and falling in love all over again. It's message is so powerful, or at least it was to me.

It says that life happens, but when you have found something special in your life you need to hold on to it and always remember what got you to fall in love. Don't let outside influence impact your love.

I think you have to be in a long term relationship to truly appreciate this story. I think that finding your soul mate is soul altering moment, but it's up to both of you to constantly remember the flutter of your heart the first time you kissed, the first time he looked at you with those longing eyes and made you feel like you were the only girl for him and the first time he said he loved you.

"Never forget that I was your first real kiss. Never forget that you'll be my last. And never stop loving me between all of. Them. Never stop, Charlie. Never forget."
