Don't sweat the small stuff - A day in my life

I decided to share with you a day in my life. It isn’t for shock or pity, it’s simply for perspective!

Don’t sweat the small stuff!

If you feel like you are having a bad day just consider, are you and your family in good health? Are you home tonight with your family? If you say yes to both then you have had a fantastic day!!

Today we went to Hospital for an Albumin infusion for Charlie. Albumin helps the body pass toxins, and in Charlie’s case it helps reduce the size of his swollen tummy. Today was a hard day, but we are very fortunate:

  • my husband was able take a day off work and spend the day with us, no one at work made any issue about his absence.

  • I have had to extend my maternity leave, but we do not feel it financially even though we didn’t plan on a two year break

  • Charlie struggled today with the needles, the prodding, pocking and generally being in hospital, but we leave the hospital tonight to sleep in our own beds.

  • we are on the liver transplant waiting list, but Charlie is well enough to wait for the call at home and not in hospital, where we are surrounded by family and friends who support, care and love him.

So if you are having a bad day today then remember, whatever it is that you are stressing about right now, this time next month there will be a new problem to stress over and you won't remember what it is you are stressed over today.

So STOP!

Breath and focuser on what’s important. Your health, the health of your loved once and those little moment of love shared between husband and wife, mother and child, grandfather and grandson.

No money can buy those moment and we will never get the time back we spent stressing over meaningless situations.

I love this quote: "Everything in life is temporary. So if things are going good, enjoy it because it won't last forever. And if things are going bad, don't worry. It can't last forever either."
