What makes you happy? …. Me … A bit of sun, a walk in the forest and a good book #metime

It’s been a while since I’ve shared any coffee or book posts, and I really miss my book review blogs. Lately, work has drained all my energy, leaving little time for creativity. Ironically, the more stressed I am, the harder it is to be creative, even though creativity could help ease that stress. After switching jobs recently, I’ve found myself stuck in a whirlwind of stress and long hours, leading to total burnout. Now, I’m in a charming, sun-kissed town that doesn’t even appear on most maps, taking time to rejuvenate my soul. Amidst this peaceful escape, I’ve rediscovered my desire to write. Today’s inspiration? “The Star-Touched Queen” by Roshani Chokshi. Looking forward to sharing more soon!

Some things are for the stomach and some for the soul….. this is all for the soul today. The smell of coffee and home made cake… family and friends to share it with. A reason to come over and enjoy a short break in the day and a try of something sweet made with love. ❤️

Some days are intentionally slow and cosy! Today I NEEDED to slow down, unwind and catch my self. I started with a reformer Pilates class at 8:30. Breaky made by @the_joa_boy was made with love and the coffee was enjoyed slowly for over an hour. I Made the apple pie and went for a 45 min walk as the crispy sunny winter day couldn’t be ignored. Then the Lamb shoulder was put to roast and now I will read my book drink my coffee and enjoy this beautiful apple pie. I’ve recently realised that I have been scared to come to a stand still, I am aware that not so deep down I worry that if I stop something bad will happen. But someone reminded me that life is meant to be enjoyed and not feared. So here I am allowing my self to slow down and enjoy today for today 😘

As we slowly dip our toe out of isolation I have to say that for us it wasn’t all that bad! I got more time for me, more time with family and more time for the important things in life. Things like #sun, #coffee and #books. I am actually sad that it’s coming to an end! But when it’s all back to “normal” I want to make sure I leave all the bad habits behind and take forward all the good once. How are you feeling?

Life is a funny thing, as one unbearable roller coaster comes to an end a new one starts up with no warning. Nothing in life will compare to the roller coaster of 2014-15, but you quickly forget the stress of life changing experience when you are in the middle of another crisis. I frequently have to re-assess my emotions and tell my self to take a deep breath, “this isn’t that important, we’ve got health that’s all that matters”. But there isn’t much logic when it comes to emotions, even though you shouldn’t let it get you, you do! This year my emotional focus was purely on work and career. It is that toxic emotional state that’s made me make the big decision and leave my job after 14 years. I’m now 4 months into my new job and seriously wondering why I hadn’t make the move sooner. My focus on trying to make the toxic relationship with my previous employer work has meant that I have slowly forgone investing time in the things that make me happy and fulfilled. I have eaten badly, exercised less, stopped my hobbies like tap dancing, reading books, I’ve only posted one blog all year, not to mention set aside all my other priorities to the detriment of my happiness and relationships. It’s taken me some time but I’m finding my way back to me. And what better way to kick this off then a huge ass book that takes you on a journey about self discovery. Lucinda Riley #themoonsister has found me at just the right time. Close to 800 pages of pure adventure....

Actually to be honest I already kicked it off with a coffee in the car and needless to say I need to check the #keepcup lid as the one I have is now leaking which meant a nice coffee stain on my lovely pink top!!!! Sunday rainy Melbourne days.... Charlie insisted we go to Chadstone shopping centre today. I am half way through #acofas by @therealsjmaas so I would have been happy to stay home and finish my book, but my baby wanted out so after a trip to Toys’R’us (he is 4 and it was all premeditated by him) we were told to go and have coffee so he can open his transformer toy. Well how do you say not to #coffee ...... ya don’t 😉☕️☕️☕️ .

I have never had such a love-hate-obsession relationship with a #book series and author yet here I am like a moth to the flame giving it one lasts chance.
